Resort Policies & Regulations

Deposit & Cancellation Policy

A deposit of one night’s room rate, one night’s resort fee ($59/night), and applicable taxes will be taken at the time of booking. Reservations with invalid credit cards will be canceled. Guests may cancel up to 72 hours before arrival to avoid one night’s room, tax, and resort fee penalty. If the reservation results in a no-show on the arrival night, then the credit card will be charged a one-night room and tax fee and the reservation will be canceled. A state tax of 7.5%, an occupancy tax of 5%, and a $49 nightly resort fee plus tax will apply to each reservation. For Special Event Dates*, 100% of the remaining stay total (remaining nights, resort fees, and applicable taxes) will be due 14 days before arrival. Reservations must be canceled 14 days before arrival to receive a full refund of the deposit. All reservations received after 14 days before arrival will be subject to a 100% non-refundable deposit. The exception to this policy is Festive Season (12/26 – 1/1) where the policy above is 30 days. *Special Event Dates 2024: 11/28-11/29, and 12/26-1/1/2025. Special Event Dates 2025: 2/14 - 2/16, 4/12 - 4/19, 7/3 - 7/5, 7/29 - 8/2, 11/26 - 11/28, and 12/26 - 1/1/2026.

Advance Purchase Rate Plan 

Advance Purchase Rate Plans are fully prepaid, non-changeable, and non-refundable. Should you cancel an Advance Rate Plan the full amount of the reservation shall be forfeited. If the reservation results in a no-show on arrival night, 100% of the reservation duration will be non-refundable and the reservation will be canceled. Each rate plan has defined cancellation policies as you proceed further into the booking process. We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in any fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the rates or details of the reservation contain or resulted from a mistake or error.

Check-In Policy

At check-in, you must present a valid ID and Credit Card or Debit Card. The cardholder must be present at check-in. Upon arrival, your credit card will be authorized for the remaining room reservation, tax, and resort fee, and $100 per night for incidentals (up to $300 at the time of check-in; once $300 has been exceeded, your credit card will be charged for any overage amount). Any unused funds will be released at the time of checkout. It may take 3-5 business days for the refund to reflect on your bank account. At check-in, the front desk will verify your check-out date. Rates quoted are based on check-in date and length of stay. Should you choose to depart early, the price is subject to change. A state tax of 7.5%, an occupancy tax of 5%, and a $49 nightly resort fee plus tax will apply to each reservation. 

Resort Fee

The nightly $59 resort fee provides every guest with:

  • Access to three resorts in the Islamorada Resort Collection including amenities, activities, multiple beaches, four pools, fitness centers, and culinary destinations
  • Rum Runner water taxi
  • Local shuttle service between MM77-MM85
  • Daily bicycle rental
  • Daily paddleboard and kayak rentals
  • One welcome drink per guest
  • Complimentary coffee service in the lobby 7 am – 10 am
  • One reusable water bottle (per guest per stay)
  • Enhanced Wi-Fi
  • Self-parking
  • Beach and pool chaise lounges and umbrellas

100% of the resort fee is used to support these services. No portion of the resort fee constitutes a gratuity, and no portion goes to any resort associate.

Dog Policy

Amara Cay Resort welcomes well-mannered dogs. Guests bringing dogs will be charged a $50 non-refundable fee per pet per day, a maximum of two dogs per room. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the Upper Keys Humane Society, Inc. Room type and location restrictions may apply. Guests will be responsible for any property damage inadvertently caused by their dogs. Certified service dogs that provide assistance to individuals with disabilities are welcome at the hotel and are not subject to the policies and restrictions described above.

Amara Cay is a cashless resort. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Diner's Club, and American Express.

Marina

All boats require separate reservations. To view our slip rates and boat ramp fees, please read our current Marina policies.

Smoking Policy

Our resort offers non-smoking rooms only. Guests who smoke should utilize our designated smoking areas to avoid fines or penalties for smoking in non-designated areas.

Age Requirement

Guests must be 21 years or older to reserve a room.
