Amara Cay Resort

What is your deposit and authorization policy?

To reserve your accommodations, Amara Cay Resort requires a deposit of one-night room, tax, and the daily resort fee at the time of booking, with the exception of advance purchase reservations. Upon arrival, your credit card will be authorized for the remaining of your room reservation, tax, and resort fee, and authorized $100 per night for incidentals. Any unused funds will be released at the time of checkout. It may take 3-5 business days for the refund to reflect on your bank account.

Can I fly a drone on resort property?

We do not allow drone usage on our property unless contracted for professional use.

What other amenities are offered at Amara Cay Resort?

In addition to the beach, we offer a variety of other amenities for guests to enjoy including a pool, fitness center, complimentary shuttle (within a four-mile radius), a dock with wet slips, two boat excursion partners, complimentary parking, a Tiki Bar, and so much more.

Can I launch my boat or jet ski at Amara Cay?

All boat ramp access and boat trailer parking are reserved for resort guests with confirmed wet slip reservations. Our resorts do not launch or store jet skis.

Do I need to be a guest to rent a slip?

Yes, you must have a room reservation at Amara Cay over the full length of slip reservation. Slip reservations may not extend past room reservations to avoid unattended trailers, vehicles, etc.

Does Amara Cay accept cash?

No. As of March 1, 2023, both Amara Cay Resort and La Siesta Resort & Villas have moved to cashless operations, including restaurants and shops.

What's included in the resort fee?

Access to three resorts in the Islamorada Resort Collection including amenities, activities, multiple beaches, four pools, fitness centers, and culinary destinations, Rum Runner water taxi, local shuttle service between MM77-MM85, daily bicycle rental, daily paddleboard and kayak rentals, one welcome drink per guest, complimentary coffee service in the lobby 7 am – 10 am, one reusable water bottle (per guest per stay), enhanced Wi-Fi, self-parking, and beach and pool chaise lounges and umbrellas. Our resort fee is $59/night per room.

Can I send a package to Amara Cay Resort?

Do you allow smoking?

Smoking is allowed in designated outdoor spaces — outside the Tiki Bar as well as the far Northern and Southern outside areas of the hotel.

Does the hotel have a spa?

We do not have a spa on property, but there are two day spas nearby, Blu Bamboo Spa(305-664-9342) and Ciao Bella Spa (305-664-4558).

The Keys are beautiful and I'd love to photograph the resort. Do you allow drones?

We do not allow drones at our resort.

Is Amara Cay Resort dog-friendly?
-
Pets are welcome at Amara Cay! While we are pet friendly, we must keep all our guests comfortable and safe. Therefore, we have established a few policies to ensure all our guests have an enjoyable stay.
- Guests bringing dogs will be charged a $50 nonrefundable fee per pet per day, with a maximum of two pets per room. There is no weight limit.
- Pets must be registered at the front desk when checking in and complete a signed acknowledgment of our pet policy.
- If the pet(s) become a disturbance to other guests, they may be asked to check out of their room without refunds or adjustments being rendered. Guests may also have to cover the cost incurred by the resort from the disturbance to another room due to pet(s).
- Any damage (chewed furniture, mess, etc.) will be the sole responsibility of the pet owner. A deep-cleaning fee of up to $100.00 may be charged if necessary.
- Pets must always be kept on a leash in common areas (including on our beach).
- Owners are expected to pick up after their pets outside on hotel grounds. Pick-up bags are free at the Front Desk.
- Please note Health Department rules do not allow dogs in the pool area. We also do not permit pets at the Tiki Bar, or the inside portion of ReelCatch Restaurant.
- Housekeeping will not service a pet occupied room throughout your stay. If you need amenities replenished, please contact the front desk.
- Service animals are always welcome at no additional charge and allowed in all resort areas. Service animals must be trained to perform a service. Emotional support animals do not fall under this same policy and are expected to follow the policies outlined by the resort.

Do all rooms have mini refrigerators and safes?

All of our rooms have mini refrigerators and safes. Our suites have both mini refrigerators and microwaves. If you need a microwave, it can be requested through our front desk.

Our Marina Slips are $150 per night, plus tax at 7.5%.

Yes, the Amara Cay pool is heated.

Yes, we have a private elevated beach for guests to enjoy. The beach includes hammocks, thatched huts, and a pier—as well as stunning ocean views.

How do I get to Amara Cay Resort?

Amara Cay Resort is located off U.S. Route 1 in the Florida Keys. The Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida, is about 1.5 hours from the resort, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is about 2 hours from the resort. Rental car services are available at both airports, including Alamo, Hertz, Enterprise, Thrifty, and more. Amara Cay Resort is also about 1.5 hours from Key West International Airport in Key West, Florida—another option for travelers flying into the area.

Amara Cay Resort is located in Islamorada, Florida—which is part of the Florida Keys. The resort is about 20 miles from Key Largo, Florida (a 25-minute drive) and about 80 miles from Key West (a 1.5-hour drive).

What are marina rates?

Our marina slips are $150 per night, plus 7.5% tax at La Siesta Resort and Amara Cay Resort. At Three Waters Resort & Marina, it's $6.00/ft nightly, and $60 ft./monthly (November - May). Our marina can accommodate bay boats, flats boats, and boats with shallow drafts. Please be advised that we do not have a dock master.

We are planning on bringing our dog to La Siesta. Can you give us additional information?

Guests bringing dogs will be charged a $50 nonrefundable fee per pet per day, with a maximum of two dogs per room. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the Upper Keys Humane Society, Inc. There is no weight limit.

Can I have a package delivered to La Siesta Resort & Villas? If yes, what is the handling or receiving fee?

Our Marina Slips are $150 per night, plus tax at 7.5%. Our marina can accommodate bay boats, flats boats, and boats with shallow drafts. Please be advised that we do not have a dock master. You can make your dock reservation by giving us a call at 305-664-2132.

What watersports are available on property?

You can enjoy kayaks and paddleboards during your stay. All non-motorized watersports are included in our resort fee. Jetski rentals and guided tours can be reserved through Spray Watersports.
